| | PKP InterCity TLK56102 is just over an hour out of Gdynia where we departed at the ungodly hour of 04.40. It's been rather a slow run to Tczew because of the high volume of engineering work we encountered. So it's pleasing that we can pick up the pace for the 90 min run to Bydgoszcz - capital of the county - Województwo Kujawsko-Pomorskie. Most of this route is, or soon will be ready for 160-200kph -though the higher speed is dependent upon new signalling and improvements to the many grade-crossings along the way. Along the line we clip the edge of the forested region of northern Poland – that means wood processing to PKP Cargo! The 10km approach to Bydgoszcz is a four-track mainline; we pass a southbound PKP container train from Gdynia hauled by an EU07 and then a mixed chemical train from Gdynia, haulage is an ET22 a Co Co from 1971. We also take a couple of ‘off train' wanderings to look at coal and timber. Filmed very early on a fine summer morning in June 2012. | | Tag cloud: cabride tczew bydgoszcz tlk56102 gdynia pace województwo kujawsko-pomorskie 160-200kph dependent clip poland wood cargo four-track southbound container eu07 haulage et22 timber | Tell a friend about this publication |
