| A Complete Guide to Ian Allan Publishing is being published in seven parts. This is the Fourth Edition of Part One, listing Ian Allan ABC Pocketbooks. The first Ian Allan publication was the ABC of Southern Railway Locomotives in December 1942 which was expanded into the Ian Allan series of Transport ABCs enabling enthusiasts of all ages to obtain relatively cheaply a small pocket sixed book giving details of the relevant means of transport or activity. The compilation of this book has been a difficult task especially as the records of publications are incomplete, in particular, prior to 1948. Contents:
