| | The Bus Fleets of Cyprus is a comprehensive history of Cypriot buses from the beginning. The author, David Corke, now lives in Cyprus and has been able to research buses since registrations began in 1920. The book tells the story of the Cypriot bus from the early days up to modern times. There were three bus pioneers - CTC/KEM, Lefkaritis and E. Kyriakou to whom a whole chapter is devoted. The impact of the British rule until 1960 is described some 450 second-hand Bedford OB and WTB were imported in the 1950s/60s. The division of the island in 1974 had a major impact on the bus scene and the outcomes are described in detail, there even being a chapter on the north. Urban operators, coach operators, the Cypriot bus manufacturing industry and the recently formed regional rural bus companies all have their own chapters. The interface with the military is described the British Sovereign Bases being a large user of buses. There are also chapters with paragraphs covering the 300 largest bus operators with brief details of their operations and vehicles. Appendices cover Cypriot registration numbers and numbers of different makes of buses year by year. The book has 104 pages and over 230 pictures, most of which are in colour and features a map to show the Districts and principal towns. Contents:
