If we could turn the clock back and revisit Ulster's railways in the early 1960s we would see a very different railway from that of today. Much of the infrastructure in that period dated back to the Victorian and Edwardian eras and, conscious that much of it was about to be swept away, amateur photographers like Richard Whitford went out with their cameras to record the last years of steam on the lines of the Ulster Transport Authority. Richard's photographs and the writing skills of Ian McLarnon Sinclair combine to give us this record of that era.
