| | Around forty vintage and classic commercial vehicles gathered at the Quernhow Truckstop for the start of Ted Hannon's two-day Phoenix Run. This annual event is held in early May but May 2006 was one of the wettest on record and it was raining heavily as the vehicles gathered for the start. For the first tiem VintageScene managed to record vehicles on the climb from Blubberhouses towards Skipton. Enjoy the sounds of Foden, COmmer and GMC 2-Stroke engined vehicles as they tackle the climb. E & N Ritchie's 1945 Scammell II OLA ballast box tractor and Paul Edwards' newly restored 1980 Scania LB 111 were both seen for the 1st time. 1973 AEC Mandator TGU 205M was sporting it's new Scotlee transport livery. 2006 saw a return to the route used for highly successful North of England runs.
