| This DvD features the British Railfreight scene from 1991 to 2002, from the final days of the British Rail era, through the transitional period with Res, National Power, Loadhaul, Transrail and Mianline, into the current competitive market with EWS, Freightliner and GBRf. Included are locomotive classes 31, 33, 37, 47, 56, 58, 59, 60, 66 and 67. These locomotives are hauling coal, oil, ore, cement, mail, container and engineering trains. Locations covered include such diverse spots as Clapham Junction, Edinburgh Waverley, Barnetby, Chesterfield and Kensington Olympia. The railfreight scen in Britian has changed so much that it is difficult to imagine the situation just a few years ago. At that time, British Rail supplied almost all the motive power, although increasingly the freight cstomers were providing their own wagons. When the regional freight companies were set up many of us asumed that these were the names we would be familiar with over the coming years, but EWS bought Res, Loadhaul, Transrail, Mainline and RfD, leaving only Freightliner to create a new competitive market, soon joined by another competitor, GBRf.
