OMNIBUS LONDON ARCHIVE Take a nostalgic trip back to look at the buses of London with this remarkable and mainly undiscovered archive footage. The material, both l6mm and 35mm, is of outstanding visual quality and comes from professional l6mm productions of the era or from 35mm movie film. From London's first horse buses of the early 1900s, we monitor the development of the bus, through the 'B', 'K' and 'NS' types, to the 'STs' and'LTs' of the 30s, 'RTs', 'RTLs' and'RTWs' of the 40s and 50s. We end with some magnificent 35mm colour footage from the early 60s introducing the famous Routemaster. OMNIBUS UK ARCHIVE In the second of our archive bus programmes, we journey around the country, from the South Coast to the Highlands of Scotland, looking at many different operators. This unique collection of archive footage inclucles material from the Southern Counties touring Society, Geoffrey Ashwell's Film Collection and the magnificent British Transport Films Unit. The programme covers the period 1949-1967, but also includes many pre-war vehicles filmed at the time. Quality black and white pictures are matched with some magniticent colour footage from the 50s and 60s. A great variety of buses from England, Scotland and Wales, featuring Maidstone, Brighton, Eastbourne, Provincial, Midland Red, Northampton, Doncaster, Wigan, Blackburn and many more.
