| | The story of army aviation in Ulster dates back to September 1913 when Captain George Dawes of the Royal Flying Corps landed on the beach at Newcastle, co Down. This book begins with an account of that historic occasion and continues with a brief history of army aviation dating back to 1878. It then looks in more detail at the connection between Northern Ireland and the post-World War II Army Air Corps, covering the period from 1957 - 2004. The authors have received tremendous co-operation from the Army Air Corps and this can clearly be seen in the depth of the text and the selection of accompanying photographs. The book features a foreword by His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps. Contents:
