|Celebrating 100 years of service on Britain's first mountain railway. In 1895 state of the art electric tramcars 'conquered' the mountain and today the line is just as impressive. A brief introduction includes historic photographs and archive of the green and cream era and the years pending investment. The story is brought up to date with a journey to the summit today with the Motorman: plus lineside footage (even in some of the most remote locations) and spectacular aerial views. Interludes include the mountain sub-station 'switch-on' , TT action, CAA railcars and new car shed. The programme concludes with 16 minutes of Caledonia's return to the mountain line that it helped to build 100 years earlier, including, the first successful ascent to the summit with the MER trailer, in cab footage on the descent and the first public runs . . . spectacular!|
